Water orders at Burning Man reserve delivery capacity, equipment, and scheduling during peak demand. These are not traditional retail purchases. Refunds are limited based on timing, and unused water is not refundable.
All orders reserve delivery capacity and scheduling — not guaranteed usage or consumption.
💧 Tank Rentals (500 / 1000 gallon units)
Tank rentals include delivery, placement, and an initial fill.
Due to the limited number of tanks and the scheduling required to service the playa:
- Full refunds available through June 15
- 50% refund from June 16 – July 31
- Non-refundable after August 1
Once a tank has been delivered to the playa, the order is considered fulfilled and is non-refundable, regardless of actual water usage.
💧 Pre-Ordered Refills (for MECO tanks)
Pre-ordered refills reserve delivery time and water allocation during peak demand.
- Full refunds available through June 15
- 50% refund from June 16 – July 31
- Non-refundable after August 1
Unused or partially used water is not eligible for refund, regardless of actual water usage.
💧 Private Tank Deliveries (BYO tank)
Water deliveries to privately owned tanks are scheduled in advance based on requested volume.
- Minimum order: 55 gallons
- Same refund schedule applies
Due to routing and capacity allocation, unused water is not refundable, regardless of actual water usage.
🌧️ Delivery Conditions & Playa Access
Operating on the playa is subject to conditions beyond MECO’s control, including weather, road conditions, and restrictions imposed by the Burning Man Organization or Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
During events such as rain, whiteouts, or official closures, access to the playa may be restricted, and MECO may be temporarily unable to perform deliveries.
These conditions are inherent to the Black Rock Desert and do not constitute negligence or breach of contract.
Deliveries will resume as soon as conditions allow.
Delays or interruptions caused by these conditions do not qualify for refunds, credits, or reimbursement, regardless of impact on usage.
